This is one of the best downtown Phoenix hotels if you are looking for a top-of-the-line stay and experience. It is in the heart of CityScape shopping mall and is within walking distance of the Talking Stick Arena and Chase Field.

One of the reasons Aram and I love this hotel so much is the Lustre rooftop pool and lounge. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the Valley of the Sun, get great views, and just relax and enjoy the day.

The Kimpton was rated the #5 Hotel in the West & Southwest by Conde Nast in 2019. Each of the 28 suites is a minimum of over 400 square feet, has queen or king beds, deep-soaking tubs, and complimentary bikes and yoga mats.

If you want a great meal, check out the Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails restaurant. It serves up New American dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

You will also find a well equipped fitness center on the 2nd floor. ]

There are ADA accessible rooms available. The Kimpton is pet friendly and there is no extra charge. There is also paid parking and valet service if desired.

The Westin Phoenix Downtown

With rooms that are a minimum of 500 square feet, you know you will be staying in comfort at the Westin. You will get a wonderful view of the city with their floor to ceiling windows. All rooms have city views, marble bathrooms, and in room safes. Internet is included for a fee.

For a perfect meal after a long day, check out their Province Urban Kitchen & Bar. This farm to table restaurant features American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also offers both indoor and outdoor dining.

They also have an amazing gym with free weights, Peloton bikes, and cardio machines. You could also take a swim in their pool.

For those that love music or sports, you are within walking distance of the Talking Stick Arena, or Chase Field. You are also within walking distance of the Convention Center. A benefit of staying here is that there is the light rail right in front of it.

Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel

The Renaissance hotel will make you feel like you've walked into an art gallery the second you enter it. It is close to the many of the sports and event centers downtown and also the fantastic Phoenix Art Museum and the Children's Museum of Phoenix.

The rooms are equipped with pillow top mattresses, mini-fridges, free bottled water and a coffee maker. Some rooms come with deluxe complimentary services such as midday snacks, lounge access, and more.

Unlike most downtown Phoenix hotels, this one offers wireless internet for free. It also has a restaurant specifically for breakfast, and one for breakfast and dinner. If you want a quick bite, there is also a Starbucks onsite. If you want to get in a workout during the day, there is the Thrive fitness center and a rooftop heated swimming pool.

This hotel is ADA accessible. There is paid parking with valet service if needed. Pets are welcome at The Renaissance for a fee.

Hyatt Regency Phoenix

Another one of the Valley of the Sun's best 4-Star hotels is the wonderful Hyatt Regency here in the heart of downtown Phoenix. The location of this Hyatt offers you easy walking access to almost anything including great shopping, bars, and restaurants. You are also just a short distance from the many museums, sports stadiums, and events centers.

This stylish hotel includes free internet access, a fitness center, three restaurants, and more. It is right next to the Valley Metro Rail, which will allow you to go directly to or from the Phoenix International Airport. With over 600 rooms, a roof top pool and the amazing revolving Compass Lounge and Restaurant, you'll be able to see everything around this beautiful city and valley.

The Hyatt has rooms that range from 300 - 400 square feet, and suites that are 1,000 to 2,700 square feet. All room have city views, flat screen TVs, coffeemakers, and more. The suites add amenities such as living and dining areas, private balconies, personal fitness rooms, and more.

This hotel is ADA accessible. This hotel does not allow pets other than service animals. Paid parking is available and with valet service for an extra fee.

Sheraton Phoenix Downtown

This is the largest of all the downtown Phoenix hotels with over 900 rooms. It is the perfect location for everything the area has to offer. You are close to the Mayo Clinic, the convention center, sporting facilities, museums, and the Arizona Mills Mall, among others.

One of the reasons we love this hotel so much is that we can have a wide variety of eating choices when we stay here. These includes a buffet breakfast, the American Restaurant on the 4th floor that has breakfast, lunch and dinner, and finally the Breeze Bar. This rooftop bar is also on the 4th floor and is open for breakfast and lunch.

To burn off those calories, there is also a 24-hour gym and swimming pool.

The rooms range from about 300 square feet to 800 square feet for a suite. They include mini-fridges, safes, complimentary bottled water, and more. The suites offer the same plus other amenities such as plush robes, shower/tub combination restrooms, and a separated living room.

This hotel is ADA accessible. The hotel is pet friendly but check for details. Parking is available for a fee. Valet service is also available for an extra fee. Paid RV parking may be available depending upon space, so it is best to call ahead and check.

3-Star Downtown Phoenix Hotels

Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix Downtown

Address: 77 East Polk Street

This is the first of our 3-star downtown Phoenix hotels. Even though this hotel is about 1 mile away from downtown, it is a great deal and has lots of amenities. Because of that, we thought it definitely worth mentioning as one of the hotels on this list. The hotel is very stylish, both inside and out, and you'll notice this immediately when you walk in the lobby.

Some of the amenities offered here include a free breakfast each morning, free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, room service and more. There is the on-site restaurant, Downtown 77 with a full menu. There are also numerous excellent restaurants nearby.

Rooms are equipped with coffee makers, HDTV, and a comfortable work area. In addition, the suites offer seating areas with sofa sleepers, microwaves, and more.

The hotel is ADA accessible. It does not have onsite parking but there are lots nearby. Service animals are allowed.

This boutique hotel is on the northern end of downtown Phoenix in the Roosevelt Row District. It is full decorated with some of the most modern art you will see in the area. It also has murals from 25 local artists on the walls and around the hotel. There is a 5-story mural on the outside of the hotel too, which adds a colorful touch. Trust us, you've never seen anything like it.

The rooms start at 400 square feet and range up to about 800. The rooms feature floor to ceiling windows, free Wi-Fi, designed beds, artwork on the walls, and great views of the city. The suites have private balconies or patios, custom chandeliers, separate living and sleeping areas and more. There is a small bar and grill onsite, fitness center, and pool.

This is one of our favorite hotels since it is located right on 2nd Avenue. This is where you'll find loads of incredible murals and art from many local artists. There are also many amazing restaurants in this area.

This hotel is ADA accessible. All pets are welcome and no additional fees apply. Parking is available for a fee and valet service is also available.

Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown

Address: 15 East Monroe Street

This is one of the downtown Phoenix hotels that is located in a gorgeous Art Deco building from the 1930s. With easy access to everything downtown, including restaurants, bars, and museums, you will love it. It is about a mile away from the Talking Stick Resort Arena and Chase field, and you can easily get there by the Valley Metro light rail if you don't want to walk or drive.

This hotel's amenities include free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, the Floor 13 rooftop bar, Monroe's in the grand lobby, and a 24-hour snack shop. Rooms range from about 300 square feet to 725 square feet for a suite. The rooms feature HDTV, mini-fridges, and microwaves. Some of the extras the suites offer include rooms for 4, two rooms, and more.

This hotel is ADA accessible. There are also spaces for self-parking. There is no valet service. Service animals are welcome.

Residence Inn by Marriott Phoenix Downtown

The Residence Inn by Marriott is the only extended-stay hotel the downtown area. It's amenities and location make it perfect for both long and short term stays.

This hotel is located near all of the top downtown attractions such as Chase Field, Talking Stick Resort Arena, Arizona Federal Theatre, shopping and the best restaurants in the city.

No matter what type of room you are in, you can start the day with a complimentary breakfast buffet. Each room has complimentary high speed internet, a living/seating area, fully equipped kitchen, a stove top and pots and pans so you can have dinner at "home." The rooms are about 350 square feet to 450 square feet each.

The hotel has a small bites and cocktail bar, Little Rituals on the 4th floor. The Bistro is a full-service breakfast and dinner restaurant if you want something with more options. There is a fitness center and a heated swimming pool that are open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

This hotel is ADA accessible. Off-site parking is available for a fee. RV/Motorcoach parking is also available but must be arranged at least 2 days before arrival. Pets are welcome with restrictions. Contact the hotel for information.

Holiday Inn Express Phoenix Downtown

This hotel is about 1 mile north of downtown, but it is still very easy to all that downtown has to offer since it's a direct route down North 5th or 3rd Street. It is a 3-story hotel with about 100 rooms. It is close to Chase Field, Talking Stick Resort Arena, the Convention Center, the Arizona Science Center, and more.

Free Wi-Fi is included in every room and they offer everything from single rooms to suites. A full breakfast is included, and if you are in a hurry, they have grab and go options. Since they do not have a restaurant on-site, they offer off-site restaurant delivery.

There is a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool, a complimentary fitness center with treadmills, free weights, and cardio machines.

This Holiday Inn Express is the only one of the downtown Phoenix hotels to offer free onsite parking. It features a large parking lot, so it should be easy to find a spot.

2-Star Downtown Phoenix Hotels

Rodeway Inn Downtown 

Address: 402 West Buren Street

Even though this is a 2-star hotel, you would never know it since the hotel has been newly renovated. They do not have a restaurant on-site, but there a many great bars and restaurants very close by it too. Some of the attractions near it include the ones listed above as well as the Orpheum Theatre, the Phoenix Museum of History, and the Children's Museum of Phoenix.

There is a complimentary breakfast and high-speed Wi-Fi. Each room has a microwave, mini-fridge, HDTV, ironing board and more to make your stay as easy as possible. If you want to really relax, you can light up the fireplaces in your room and just kick back after a long day exploring the Valley of the Sun.

The Rodeway Inn on the eastern edge of downtown, making it a great option for those wanting to stay close to downtown, but also want to keep their budget in check.

This hotel is ADA accessible. Parking is free. There is no valet service. Pets are allowed but there is a fee. Call ahead to check as they often let service animals stay for free.

SureStay Hotel by Best Western Phoenix Downtown

Address: 424 W. Van Buren Street

The final of the downtown Phoenix hotels is the SureStay Hotel. It has been newly remodeled and is a perfect location for everything downtown while also saving you some cash. It is also on the eastern edge of downtown and right next door to the Rodeway Inn (mentioned above).

There is a complimentary grab and go breakfast each day. The hotel offers 24-hour front desk service, and each room features HDTV, microwaves, mini-fridges, and desks for you to use when you are here. It also has laundry for a fee. They allow for late check outs in case you need a little more time.

The hotel is ADA accessible. Pets are not allowed at the hotel. Parking is free but there is no valet. Call ahead to see about service animals.
